About
The Origami Man
I
was first introduced to paper folding as a child since
my father used to fold a fish head that would open and
closed its mouth as you pulled open it's gills.
But
what got me really hooked was in about 4th grade, the
school bully had made a flapping bird but wouldn't show
me how to make it. Eventually I found the directions and
diagrams and have probably made and given away 1000 flapping
birds in the last 50 years. |

The
first Origami book I got was a used school book The Art
of Origami by Robert Harbin. Now I have numerous origami
books and a collection of other origami diagrams from the web
and other sources. The last one I purchase was a used and discarded
library book World of Origami by Isao Honda, one of
the Japanese Master Origami folders.
Because
the printed page is only 2 dimensional, sometimes it is hard
to follow the directions for a model that is 3 dimensional.
That is the reason for "Origami Live". Now you can
see the model actually being made, and have the opportunity
to watch it again if you don't quite understand the first time.
Included
is the video instruction for over 20 items. One of those items
included is one kind of rose. The directions I originally got
fo making this rose included a small sheet of diagrams, but
I defy nearly anyone to fold a rose from that sheet for the
first time.
I
believe that with the help of this video, that you can make
a rose on your first try. It may take a little time, and you
may need to see segments of the video more than once, but follow
thruough and you will succeed.
